Knockout CP Freshmart (Thammanoon Niyomtrong) will square off against Carlos Canizales on December 4, 2025 in Bangkok. The fight is set during the WBC’s 63rd Annual Convention, which runs from November 30 to December 5 in the Thai capital.
Canizales, the current WBC light flyweight champion from Venezuela, is widely seen as one of the top fighters at the 108-pound division. He recently captured the title via a fifth-round knockout over Panya Pradabsri. Freshmart, on the other hand, is a former standout at minimumweight who moved up and held the WBA light flyweight title from 2014 until losing it in a title unification bout to Oscar Collazo in November 2024 — marking his first loss as a professional.
Since that defeat, Freshmart has bounced back with several wins, but this matchup represents a significant step up in competition. Fighting in his home country means he’ll have the crowd advantage in what many expect to be a high-intensity bout.
The fight carries significance not just for Freshmart’s comeback — there’s also the narrative of a possible two-division titleholder in the making. Canizales, meanwhile, is fighting to cement his standing after a recent mixed stretch.
