Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka is determined to showcase a refined and calculated approach in his upcoming bout against Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 320. Acknowledging the need for improvement, Prochazka aims to enhance his striking defense and adopt a more patient, precise offensive strategy.
In a recent interview, Prochazka emphasized the importance of selecting his shots carefully, stating,
“Every attack has to go through. That’s what I worked on. To work lightly, to be precise, and with that to have deadly attacks.”
He recognizes Rountree as a dynamic and tough fighter capable of enduring long rounds, which necessitates a more measured approach.
Having made significant strides since his last preparation in January, Prochazka is eager to demonstrate his growth and well-rounded skill set. While a victory could position him for a title shot, he remains focused solely on the challenges Rountree presents. Prochazka expressed,
“I’m humble, and I don’t want to speak about the next phases. Right now, I’m totally focused on Khalil. I don’t want to be focused on the future.”
This matchup is set to take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with the main card commencing at 10 p.m. ET.
