Jiří Procházka says he’s retiring his trademark “samurai-style” hairdo as he gears up to face Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 320. He explained in a recent media scrum that he no longer feels the need for recognizable visual markers in the Octagon. What matters more, he said, is his performance—the fight, his intent, and what he brings inside the cage.
Procházka, who holds a 5-2 UFC record with both losses coming against Alex Pereira, acknowledged that things like hair, tattoos, or style choices are more “extras” than essentials—symbols rather than substance. “After my last fight … I know who I am … I know what I want to show there. This hair … is just like other things … Everything I have here. So that’s what I’m going to show.”
The move comes ahead of what could be a pivotal bout: a win could put Procházka in position to challenge for the UFC light heavyweight title, depending on what happens in the main event between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira.
